The Dutch Fork (Irmo, S.C.) girls basketball team extended its winning streak to 38 games on Monday with a 69-29 rout of Sumter (S.C.) during the Class 4A state quarterfinals.
Coach Faye Norris told MaxPreps that the Silver Foxes' pressure defense forced 13 first-quarter turnovers and they dominated the rest of the way.
Leading the charge was Alaina Coates, a 6-foot-5 senior center who had 29 points, 13 rebounds, six blocked shots and four steals. Five-foot-six junior Sydney Shullcontributed 15 points, six steals and five assists, 5-7 sophomore Morgan Williamshad 10 points and 5-5 senior Rose Robinson added seven assists, five points and three steals.
