McDonald's All American girls selections announced
North Carolina and California are big winners for prestigious 12th annual game in Chicago.

Norcross (Ga.) standout Diamond DeShields is one of 24 players to be chosen to play in the McDonald's All American Game in Chicago on April 3.
Three Duke and three North Carolina signees were among the 24 females picked to play in the prestigious event, which will take place April 3 at 6 p.m. (CT) at Chicago's United Center.
The West will feature future Blue Devils in Oderah Chidom, a 6-foot-3 forward from Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Calif.), 6-3 St. Anthony (Long Beach, Calif.) post Kendall Cooper and Rebecca Greenwell, a 6-1 guard from Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro, Ky.), along with North Carolina-bound Jessica Washington, a 5-8 guard from Jenks (Okla.).
Washington will play against her future teammates Diamond DeShields, a 6-2 guard from Norcross (Ga.) and Stephanie Mavunga, a 6-2 forward from Brownsburg (Ind.).
Notre Dame, Kentucky, Stanford and Tennessee all feature two future players in the 12th annual game, which will be played before the 36th annual boys game.
More than 1,100 players have competed in McDonald's All American Games, including college and WNBA stars Sylvia Fowles, Candace Parker and Maya Moore.
The girls game will feature the first-ever McDonald's All American Games father-daughter duo of Tya Reimer, a 6-2 forward from Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), whose dad is Ben Davis, a 1991 selection.
Whitney Young (Chicago) point guard Linnae Harper, of the West, will represent the home crowd, as will the West coach Anthony Smith, of Bolingbrook (Ill.). Oakton (Vienna, Va.) Fred Priester was selected to coach the East squad.
California has the most selections with four.
