Georgia Tarheel Sports is a non-profit athletic organization designed to provide young athletes (ages 8-17) with a forum to develop and display their athletic skills and talents. The league is structured around and emphasizes the importance of continuing education, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Another very valuable asset to the positive interaction that the organization continually has with local school, neighborhoods, city management and the business community.

Alaina Coates Leads Dutch Fork girls basketball in Playoffs
The Dutch Fork (Irmo, S.C.) girls basketball team extended its winning streak to 38 games on Monday with a 69-29 rout of Sumter (S.C.) during the Class 4A state quarterfinals.
Leading the charge was Alaina Coates, a 6-foot-5 senior center who had 29 points, 13 rebounds, six blocked shots and four steals. Five-foot-six junior Sydney Shullcontributed 15 points, six steals and five assists, 5-7 sophomore Morgan Williamshad 10 points and 5-5 senior Rose Robinson added seven assists, five points and three steals.

Coach Faye Norris told MaxPreps that the Silver Foxes' pressure defense forced 13 first-quarter turnovers and they dominated the rest of the way.
